BY NAMULONGO PETER,NAIROBI,2ND MARCH 2017-Mediators from the Kenya National Commission on Human Rights (KNCHR) and the Law Society of Kenya (LSK) are due to appear before the Court of Appeal Thursday to present their final report on the negotiations seeking to end the doctors’ strike.

Talks between the doctors’ union and the Ministry of Health stalled yet again Wednesday evening after both sides failed to reach an agreement.
The mediators said some progress had been made but there were still outstanding issues that needed to be agreed upon by the two sides.
They had been given until Thursday to end the three-month strike after the Court of Appeal ordered the release of seven doctors’ union officials who had been jailed for a month for disobeying a court order.
The mediators said it is now upon the court to decide whether or not to extend the time for mediation so that an agreement is reached.
The mediation team comprises KNCHR chairperson Kagwiria Mbogori who is chairing it, James Mang’erere from KNCHR, John Morris Ohaga and Njeri Kariuki from LSK.
The KPMDU officials include Secretary General Ouma Oluga, Chairman Samuel Oroko, Allan Ochanji, Mwachonda Chibanzi, Daisy Korir, Everlyne Njeri and Titus Ondoro.
