blow to Sofapaka,Muhoroni youth after court throws out their review case

BY UPESINEWS SPORTS,NAIROBI,23RD FEB 2017-Kisumu High Court has dismissed an application by Sofapaka and Muhoroni Youth fans seeking to compel KPL  and FKF to include the two ‘relegated’ sides in this season’s KPL fixtures for being incompetent.

This means the orders restraining KPL from releasing fixtures without inclusion of the two clubs have been temporarily vacated and KPL-FKF can now go ahead and announce this season’s kick off date.

Fans had moved to court challenging the two sides’ relegation by FKF for failing to comply with CAF Club Licensing regulations and requirements. The court had since issued an injunction barring KPL from releasing fixtures until the application is heard and determined.

The application has been dismissed for being incompetent as  Kenya Premier League Limited the first respondent is described as ‘Kenya Premier Legue LTD’  while FKF the second respondent is listed as ‘Football Federation of Kenya’ instead of ‘Football Kenya Federation’. The petitioners since  been advised to file a fresh amended application.
