BY UPESI NEWS SPORTS REPORTER,NAIROBI,27TH JAN,2017-The kenyan Premier League is set for expansion after KPL and Football Kenya Federation finally agreed to expand Kenya’s top tier from the current 16 teams to 18 from 2017.

After months of push and pull the two parties finally reached an agreement on Thursday with the only remaining bit being how to fund the two extra teams in the league.

Football Kenya Federation has pledged to cater for the two teams up to a tune of Ksh. 36 million. Accountants from both ends are expected to meet on Friday 27 January to finally agree on the figures before the deal is finally reached. The 2017 season is expected to commence on February 11 2017.
