Confederations cup:Germany thrashes Cameroon 3-1

 BY SAMSON MBII,25TH JUNE,2017-Germany thrashed Cameroon by 3 goals to 1 in a controversial game staged on Sunday 25th June.The Indomitable Lions started the game in  high spirits  controlling the pitch for the  better part of first half.

They had nearly all the clear cut chances despite having a lower possession percentage as compared to Germany’s.

This  shifted , in the second half though with  Germany coming back strong with a 48th minute goal from Demirbay.

 Germany kept pressing and Cameroon keeper Ondoa made incredible saves to try keep Cameroon in the game.

Siani was handed a controversial red card after a challenge on Emre can. After a review from the VAR, Mabouka was shown a red card as well. Siani’s red card which had resulted from a second yellow card was withdrawn.

Immediately after that Werner scored a beautiful  header that served as Germany’s second goal in the 66th minute.

With time flying quickly Cameroon had to do anything to at least get a goal,working hard they did.Their efforts bore fruits Vincent Aboubakar  scoring  a goal in the 78th minute .

Werner finished the game in the 81st minute with a smashing third goal.

The results now means that Germany  is set to  face Mexico in the semi-finals.

In other match played Sunday Chile drew 1-1 against Australia.Chile will meet portugal in the semi finals.
